Artist Statement

For me, art is natural. Artistic expression resides within my continuous thought process, it comes naturally. I am simply fascinated by nature itself. The underlying patterns and organic forms found in nature represent a kind of simple beauty. Nature can be still, peaceful, breathtaking. But what happens when man disregards the beauty that nature has to offer, consuming it for his own good? Nature reveals that it cannot be tamed. Many similarities exist between man and nature; it is important to understand this in order to coexist.

Much of my work emphasizes the relationship between man and nature, and the interconnection that unifies all living things. The cycle between them can be vicious yet beautiful. Nature is too often mistaken for a resource or commodity. The majesty of natural forms is often overlooked. I seek to illuminate the simple beauty that can be found in all aspects of nature and living things. I believe that the aspects of this world untouched by man are among the most beautiful and artistic.
